The key word for this book of the Bible is Sanctification. The purpose of the book is to promote sanctification
by correcting evils and answering questions. In the introduction the course discusses the author, the church and
the riches that they have. During the discussion the course covers the corrective actions for dealing with the
carnalities in the church, the consultive actions for dealing with the difficulties found there and the constructive
actions for bringing out the spiritual growth of the church.

Biblical Studies 112: II Corinthians
The second letter was undoubtedly an outcome of the first epistle written to the church at Corinth. Titus and
Timothy communicated to Paul the response of the church to his first letter, and what they revealed disturbed him.
His response is the second epistle. There is a comparison and a contrast of the two epistles of Paul to the
Corinthian church. In the first there is an exhibition of a church that needed correction and constructive instruction.
In the second there is the display of the minister of correction as Paul is conscious of the authority conferred to him
by God. In this second epistle the apostle unveils his personality and reveals his absolute dedication to the Lord
Jesus Christ. So the epistle is largely personal from beginning to end. It is a defense of his ministry. In the first we
get a picture of the church. In the second we get a vision of the minister within the church.
